"What is the real name of Christ?"

I have a very strong belief that as Christians, we should do everything in the name of the Lord.
"Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him." Colossians 3:17
Lately, I have been reading material that states that the name "Jesus" is a Greek translation, further distored by the English language. Basically, the Messiah never answered to the name "Jesus."
Jews in the days of Christ were still given Hebrew names. For example, the mother of Christ was not Mary (Anglocized version), but Miriam.
So, I have been very perplexed lately and praying to God, through his Son, that I may know exactly what name was said to Miriam by the angel, Gabriel. I want to know exactly how it sounded in Miriam's ears. I want to know how to say it; I want to use it in prayer; I want to be baptized in it. I don't want a watered-down translation of the only "name under heaven given amongst men whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)
I've heard other people say, "God knows who we mean ... He understands ... a lot of people change the sounding of their name when they move or live in another nation." This all may be true, but I long for my Lord's real name.
I open this message up to all. I would love to hear from you. Am I a crackpot for seeking the real name of our Lord? God knows, I seek His name from my heart. But let me hear your opinion or what you have found concerning the name of Christ.
