"How do I know Christianity is the truth?"
Back to "Listen to God's Lessons"
I know many people wonder how they can know which religion is the truth? I know people who would really like to find the true God, but they don't know which one it is.
So, I can only offer my witness as to how I know Christianity is the true religion of the world.
I have to admit, there are times I would doubt my own faith and even the very existence of God; however, one thing keeps me constant. Without a doubt, I received God's Holy Spirit as He promised in many scriptures, most notabley Acts 2:38-39. In Acts 2:38-39, Peter is preaching after he had just received God's Spirit. He tells the listeners that if they would repent, be baptized in the name of Yeshua Christ for the remission of their sins, then God promised that He would give them the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Well, although I didn't totally understand it, I did believe God would do what He said He would in that scripture. So, I repented of my sins, I was baptized in the name of Yeshua, and I waited. I waited and prayed. And finally, one day in a church service, when I wasn't even praying for myself, but for someone in need (doesn't that tell us something), God filled me with His Spirit.
It's very hard to explain the feeling, because there is no earthly experience that comes near to the experience of having God Almighty wash over you with His presence. You are immersed into the Spirit of God. It's a supernatural experience and it's powerful. If you believe God, and ask Him for the promise of His Spirit, He will give it to you -- it's a promise. I had doubts about the Holy Ghost baptism when I received it, but I also saw in scripture that it was a promise. All I can say is that if you repent of your sins and get baptized in the name of Yeshua Christ, God will give you His Spirit. It is a powerful experience when the God of Eternity touches you with His Spirit. It's an experience that anyone can have if they ask God with a sincere heart.
"For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power." 1 Corinthians 4:20
I urge you not to just take my word for it. Receive God's Spirit for yourself. You can have a real experience with God. Just ask Him and He will give it to you. If you would like to learn more about the experience, read chapter nine of the book in this website, which may be found at the home page. Or click here for an easy link to chapter nine.
