"So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done." Acts 4:21

When we preach the Lord Jesus Christ, signs and wonders should follow. When Peter and John healed the lame man at the gate Beautiful, then preached Jesus Christ, the Sadduccees arrested them (Acts 3 and 4). But, the Sadduccees were compelled to release Peter and John because a "notable miracle had been done by them and was manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and the Sadduccees couldn't deny it." (Acts 4:16) These were the earliest days of the Church of Jesus Christ. The bride was young, exuberant and zealous. After Peter and John were released, the Church gathered for this beautiful prayer that rocked the rafters:
"And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, by stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of the holy child Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all." Acts 4:29-33
We ought to be praying that prayer. We need the boldness that the early church had to go into the world and witness the truth in Christ Jesus. We've got to have the Spirit and the Truth. Also, notice the unity of the people in this passage. When we unite in sound doctrine and in Spirit, we can move mightily in the Lord and for the Lord Jesus Christ.
